Since it has been 3 months now that I'm on, a monitored by scientists, diet in order not only to progressively go vegan but also to lose my extra weight, I thought it is the best time to share my reflections on how yoga and healthy lifestyle in general could improve our body figure.
First of all I shall remind that Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga is a dynamic form of yoga that includes a 20min aerobic program before starting the strengthening and stretching poses that last approximately 1 hour and then it is 15min of a closing sequence that prepares yourself for the complete relaxation(savasana). In other words, it offers a complete workout program that not only keeps you healthy but also fit!
Yoga does not offer quick weight loss. However, it offers long lasting effects. Initially, you’ll start feeling more active and alive inside. Eventually, the body will start responding and come back in good shape. Always remember that patience is one of yoga's essential values. Don’t lose hope and be regular with your practice. Talk to your yoga instructor and in order to create together a custom-made flow to help you reach your target.
A healthy body can be a home to calm and receptive mind. It not only makes you look good but also adds confidence. In addition it definitely takes you away from health risks. Yoga helps you lose weight by losing mostly everything else that harms your body and mind.
What I mean is what you actually do on the mat, which is a complete and concentrated work out, reflectes your life off the mat. Yoga starts the moment you realize that your daily routine has been modified in order to meet your goals on the mat. You quit smoking, you minimized your alcohol and meat consumption, you started behaving kinder and you started choosing yin over yang in all aspects of your life!
